Organizing Industry Trends
Established in 2012 by Carolyn Caldwell, The Organizing Summit is a “think tank” group focused on identifying emerging global organizing industry trends. The first meeting was held in Toronto, Canada in February of 2013. The Summit’s has a single focus which is identification of new trends within the industry of professional organizing. The Summit’s research includes an annual discussion of leaders followed by research to find out if similar trends are happening in other parts of the country or globe. Participation is by invitation. Participants represent different interests and activity areas of the industry.
Regional Interest – Global Trends
In November 2016, for the first time since it was established, the Organizing Summit was held outside of Toronto. A small international test group of leaders gathered in Vancouver, Canada to challenge the hypothesis that emerging trends in organizing industry varied from country to country and culture to culture. Based on this comparison of knowledge and experience, countries across the globe share surprisingly similar developing organizing industry trends.
